SLIPPER - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
The piece is worked back and forth from the toe to back of heel. The slipper is sewn together from mid front of foot, under the foot and to mid back of heel to finish.

SLIPPER:
The whole of the slipper is worked in GARTER STITCH and STRIPES – read descriptions above.
Cast on 19-21-23 stitches with needle size 5 mm and deep red. Work and increase1 stitch (by working 2 stitches in 1 stitch) on each side of the piece every 2nd row a total of 20-22-23 times = 59-65-69 stitches – REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When the increases are finished, the piece measures approx. 12-13-14 cm (measured in the knitting direction).
The next row is worked as follows:
Work 29-32-34 stitches, slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch (= 1 stitch decreased), work the remaining 28-31-33 stitches. From here the piece is worked in 2 parts (= 29-32-34 stitches on each part). Continue with garter stitch and decrease 1 stitch (knit 2 stitches together) on each side of the piece every 2nd row a total of 12-14-15 times = 5-4-4 stitches. Continue to decrease as follows:

SIZE 35/37:
Knit 2 together, knit 1, knit 2 together. Work 1 row. Next row: Slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 2 together and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted together stitches. Cut the strand and pull it through the last stitch. Work the other part in the same way. The piece measures a total of approx. 20 cm (measured in knitting direction).

SIZES 38/39 - 40/42:
Knit 2 together two times. Work 1 row. Next row: Knit 2 together. Cut the strand and pull it through the last stitch. Work the other part in the same way. The piece measures a total of approx. 22-24 cm (measured in knitting direction).

ASSEMBLY:
See diagrams A.1 and A.2 for assembly. The slipper is folded double and sewn neatly together in the outermost loop of the outermost stitch from point 1, via point 2 to point 3.
Work the other slipper in the same way.

ize: 35/37 - 38/40 - 41/43

ACCESSORIES FOR THE PIECE:

KNITTING TENSION:
26 stitches in width and 34 rows vertically in stocking stitch and pattern = 10 x 10 cm.

NEEDLES:
DROPS DOUBLE POINTED NEEDLES SIZE 2.5 mm
Needle size is only a suggestion! If you have too many stitches on 10 cm switch to larger needles. If you have too few stitches on 10 cm switch to smaller needles.
PATTERN:
See diagrams A.1 and A.2. Work the entire pattern in stocking stitch.

DECREASE TIP-1 (evenly):
To calculate how to decrease evenly, use the total number of stitches on row (e.g. 72 stitches) and divide stitches by number of decreases to be done (e.g. 6) = 12.
In this example decrease by knitting every 11th and 12th stitch together.

KNITTING TIP-1:
To avoid the knitting tension to tighten when working pattern, it is important not to tighten the strands on back side of piece. Use a larger needle size when working pattern if needed.

KNITTING TIP-2 (applies to heel):
To get a stronger heel the entire heel and heel decrease can be worked in 2 strands as follows: Use strand inside and outside of ball and work 1 stitch alternately with one and the other strand. This way you get a thicker heel without working with double strand.

HEEL DECREASE:
ROW 1 (= right side): Knit until 7-8-8 stitches remain, slip next stitch as if to knit, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch knitted, turn piece.
ROW 2 (= wrong side): Purl until 7-8-8 stitches remain, slip next stitch as if to purl, purl 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch purled, turn piece.
ROW 3 (= right side): Knit until 6-7-7 stitches remain, slip next stitch as if to knit, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch knitted, turn piece.
ROW 4 (= wrong side): Purl until 6-7-7 stitches remain, slip next stitch as if to purl, purl 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch purled, turn piece.
Continue decrease like this with 1 stitch less before each decrease until there are 14-14-16 stitches on needle.

DECREASE TIP-2 (applies to toe):
Begin 2 stitches before marker and knit 2 together, marker, slip 1 stitch knitwise, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch worked (= 2 stitches decreased).

SOCKS - SHORT SUMMARY OF PIECE:
Worked in the round on double pointed needles, top down.

SOCK:
Cast on 72-75-81 stitches on double pointed needles size 2.5 mm with light grey. Knit 1 round. Then work 1 round rib = knit 1/purl 2. Switch to light pearl grey and continue rib until piece measures 3 cm in all sizes.
Knit 1 round while decreasing 0-3-1 stitches evenly - read DECREASE TIP-1 = 72-72-80 stitches.
Read KNITTING TIP-1 and work A.1 in the round (= 9-9-10 repetitions of 8 stitches). REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION!
AT THE SAME TIME on row marked with arrow in A.1 decrease 6-6-8 stitches evenly on round = 66-66-72 stitches. When A.1 has been worked, piece measures approx. 12 cm in all sizes.
Then work A.2 in the round (= 11-11-12 repetitions of 6 stitches). AT THE SAME TIME on row marked with arrow in A.2 decrease 6-6-6 stitches evenly on round = 60-60-66 stitches. Work A.2 (there is now room for 10-10-11 repetitions of 6 stitches).
When A.2 has been worked, piece measures approx. 25 cm in all sizes. Then work in stocking stitch with grey until finished measurements. AT THE SAME TIME on first round after A.2 decrease 6-2-4 stitches evenly = 54-58-62 stitches.
When piece measures 26 cm in all sizes, keep the first 13-14-15 stitches on needles for heel, slip the next 28-30-32 stitches on 1 stitch holder (= mid on top of foot) and keep the remaining 13-14-15 stitches on needles for heel = 26-28-30 heel stitches.
Read KNITTING TIP-2 and work in stocking stitch back and forth over heel stitches for 5-5½-6 cm.
Insert a marker in the middle of last row, marker should be used later to measure the length of foot.
Now work HEEL DECREASE - read explanation above. After heel decrease work next round as follows: Knit over the 14-14-16 stitches from heel, pick up 13-14-16 stitches along side of heel, knit the 28-30-32 stitches from stitch holder and pick up 13-14-16 stitches along the other side of heel = 68-72-80 stitches on needles.
Insert 1 marker on each side of the 28-30-32 stitches on top of foot.
Work in stocking stitch in the round and decrease on each side of the 28-30-32 stitches on top of foot as follows: Knit the last 2 stitches before first marker on top of foot twisted together and knit the 2 stitches after last marker on top of foot together (= 2 stitches decreased). Decrease like this every other round 8-8-10 times in total = 52-56-60 stitches.
Then continue until piece measures approx. 18-19-21 cm from marker on heel (approx. 4-5-6 cm remain until finished measurements, try the sock on and work to desired length). Insert 1 marker in each side so that there are 26-28-30 stitches both on top of foot and under foot. On next round decrease for toes on both each side of both markers – read DECREASE TIP-2 (= 4 stitches decreased). Decrease like this on every other round a total of 4-7-9 times and then on every round a total of 5-3-2 times = 16 stitches remain on needle in all sizes. On next round knit all stitches together 2 by 2 = 8 stitches remain in all sizes. Cut the yarn and pull it through the remaining stitches, tighten together and fasten.
Work the other sock the same way.

Size: 35/37 - 38/40 - 41/43
Foot length: 22-24-27 cm
Leg length: 22-23-24 cm
Materials:
DROPS FABEL from Garnstudio (belongs to yarn group A)
50-50-50 g colour 100, off white
100-100-100 g colour 103, grey blue
50-50-50 g colour 522, turquoise/blue

----------------------------------------------------------
ACCESSORIES FOR THE PIECE:

KNITTING TENSION:
26 stitches in width and 52 rows vertically in garter stitch = 10 x 10 cm.

NEEDLES:
DROPS NEEDLES SIZE 2.5 mm
Needle size is only a suggestion! If you have too many stitches on 10 cm switch to larger needles. If you have too few stitches on 10 cm switch to smaller needles.
GARTER STITCH (back and forth):
1 ridge = knit 2 rows.

PATTERN:
See diagrams A.1 to A.6. Choose diagram for your size.

DECREASE TIP (evenly):
All decreases are done from the right side!
To calculate how to decrease evenly, use the total number of stitches on row (e.g. 74 stitches) and divide stitches by number of decreases to be done (e.g. 3) = 24.66.
In this example decrease by knitting approx. every 24th and 25th stitch together.

MOSAIC PATTERN:
See diagram A.1 to A.6 and read explanation for technique below.
Every row in these diagrams equals 2 rows. I.e. from right side work diagram from right to left and from wrong side work same row from left to right.
On all rows from right side hold yarn behind piece (i.e. on wrong side of piece) when slipping a stitch.
On all rows from wrong side hold yarn in front of piece (i.e. towards you and still on wrong side of piece) when slipping a stitch.
Make sure that the yarn is not too tight on wrong side of piece!
To maintain control over pattern insert a marker between every pattern repetition.
Work pattern in garter stitch.
A.1/A.3 show which colour to use on row.
On every pattern row that begins and ends with a black square/square in A.1/A.3 (colour B), knit all stitches with colour B and slip all stitches with colour A.
On every pattern row that begins and ends with a empty square in A.1/A.3 (colour A), knit all stitches with colour A and slip all stitches with colour B.

HEEL:
Knit 1 row over heel stitches. Then continue to work in garter stitch at the same time slip 1 stitch in the edge towards stitch holder-1 every 4th row on stitch holder-2 Continue like this until there are 6-7-8 stitches on stitch holder-2 = 7 stitches remain on needle. Insert 1 marker thread in piece, this should be used to measure length of foot. Then continue in garter stitch but on every 4th row work 1 stitch from stitch holder-2 back on needle. NOTE: Pick up 1 stitch between stitches on needle and stitches on stitch holder-2 to avoid holes. On next row work the 2 new stitches together. Continue like this until there are 13-14-15 stitches on the needle. Knit 1 row over all stitches.

START THE PIECE HERE:

----------------------------------------------------------

SOCKS - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
Worked back and forth. Work sock in one piece, top down and sew tog mid back and under foot.

SOCK:
Work the entire sock in GARTER STITCH - read explanation above.
Cast on 74-80-86 stitches (including 1 edge stitch in each side of piece) on needles size 2.5 mm with turquoise/blue.
Work back and forth over all stitches. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION!
When piece measures 2 cm, work 1 ridge with grey blue, then work MOSAIC PATTERN - read explanation above, as follows:
Work A.1 (= 1 stitch), work A.2 (= 6 stitches) until 1 stitch remains (= 12-13-14 times in width) and finish with 1 stitch A.1.
When A.1 and A.2 have been worked 1 time vertically, continue with grey blue while AT THE SAME TIME decreasing as follows:
Decrease 3 stitches evenly every 4th row 4 times in total - read DECREASE TIP = 62-68-74 stitches.
When 8-10-12 ridges with grey blue have been worked in total, continue pattern as follows:
Work A.3 (= 1 stitch), A.4 (= 7-3-7 stitches), A.5 (= 12 stitches) over the next 48-60-60 stitches (= 4-5-5 times in total in width), A.6 (= 5-3-5 stitches) and finish with A.3 over last stitch.
Continue pattern like this until piece measures 18-19-20 cm (approx. 4 cm remain on leg height).
Continue with grey blue AT THE SAME TIME decrease as follows:
Decrease 3 stitches evenly every 4th row 3-3-4 times in total = 53-59-62 stitches.
When piece measures 22-23-24 cm, decrease 3-4-2 stitches evenly = 50-55-60 stitches.
Now slip the first 37-41-45 stitches on stitch holder-1 = 13-14-15 stitches. Work HEEL - read explanation above, over the 13-14-15 stitches.
After heel slip stitches back on stitch holder-1. Then slip the first 13-14-15 stitches from stitch holder-1 (i.e. in opposite side) back on needle. Work heel the same way over these stitches. Slip all stitches back on needle = 50-55-60 stitches. Work back and forth as before over all stitches.
When piece measures approx. 8 cm from marker thread on heel, decrease 0-2-2 stitches evenly on next row from right side = 50-53-58 stitches.
When piece measures 16-17-19 cm from marker thread on heel, decrease 0-3-2 stitches evenly on next row from right side = 50-50-56 stitches. Then work pattern as follows: Work A.1 over first stitch, work A.2 over the next 48-48-54 stitches (= 8-8-9 times in width) and finish with A.1 over last stitch. When A.1 and A.2 have been worked 1 time vertically, work 1 ridge with grey blue, then continue with turquoise/blue until finished measurements as follows:
When piece measures 19-20-22 cm from marker thread on heel (approx. 3-4-5 cm remain), decrease 9-8-7 stitches evenly on every 4th row 4-5-6 times in total = 14-10-14 stitches.
On next row work all stitches together 2 by 2 = 7-5-7 stitches. Pull yarn through all stitches, tighten together and fasten.

ASSEMBLY:
Sew tog sock mid back and under foot. Sew inside 1 edge stitch.
Knit another sock the same way.

Size: 35/37 - 38/40 - 41/43
Foot length: approx. 22 - 24 - 27 cm
Sock height down to heel: approx. 25 cm for all sizes.

SOCKS - SHORT SUMMARY OF PIECE:
Worked in the round on double pointed needles, top down.

SOCK:
Cast on 72-76-80 stitches on double pointed needles size 2.5 mm with light pearl grey. Knit 1 round. Then work rib in the round (= knit 2/purl 2) for 3 cm.
Knit 1 round while decreasing 8-4-8 stitches evenly - read DECREASE TIP-1 = 64-72-72 stitches.
Read KNITTING TIP-1 and work A.1 in the round (= 8-9-9 repetitions of 8 stitches). REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION!
AT THE SAME TIME on round marked with arrow in A.1 decrease 4-0-0 stitches evenly = 60-72-72 stitches (there is now room for 15-18-18 repetitions of 4 stitches).
When A.1 has been worked, work A.2 in the round (= 5-6-6 repetitions of 12 stitches).
AT THE SAME TIME on round marked with arrow in A.2 decrease 4-8-8 stitches evenly = 56-64-64 stitches.
When A.2 has been worked, work A.3 in the round (= 14-16-16 repetitions of 4 stitches). AT THE SAME TIME on round marked with arrow in A.3 decrease 0-4-0 stitches evenly = 56-60-64 stitches (there is now room for 14-15-16 repetitions of 4 stitches).
When A.3 is done, knit 1 round with ocean view while decreasing 2 stitches evenly in all sizes = 54-58-62 stitches. The piece now measures approx. 25 cm vertically.
Keep the first 13-14-15 stitches on needle for heel, slip the next 28-30-32 stitches on 1 stitch holder (= mid on top of foot) and keep the last 13-14-15 stitches on needle for heel = 26-28-30 heel stitches on needle. Read KNITTING TIP-2 and work in stocking stitch back and forth over heel stitches with ocean view for 5-5½-6 cm.
Insert a marker in the middle of the last row, marker should be used later to measure the length of foot.
Work HEEL DECREASE (with ocean view) - read explanation above. After heel decrease work next round as follows: Knit over the 14-14-16 heel stitches, pick up 13-14-16 stitches along side of heel, knit the 28-30-32 stitches from stitch holder on top of foot and pick up 13-14-16 stitches along the other side of heel = 68-72-80 stitches on needles.
Insert 1 marker on each side of the 28-30-32 stitches on top of foot.
Work in stocking stitch in the round with ocean view and decrease on each side of the 28-30-32 stitches on top of foot as follows: Knit the last 2 stitches before first marker on top of foot twisted together and knit the 2 stitches after last marker on top of foot together. Decrease like this every other round 8-8-10 times in total = 52-56-60 stitches.
Work until piece measures 11-12-14 cm from marker on heel. Work A.4 in the round (= 13-14-15 repetitions of 4 stitches). When A.4 has been worked, continue in stocking stitch with blue.
Work until piece measures 18-19-21 cm from marker on heel (A.4 should now be done and approx. 4-5-6- cm remain until finished measurements, try the sock on and work to desired length). Insert 1 marker in each side of sock so that there are 26-28-30 stitches both on top of foot and under foot.
Then decrease for toes on each side of both markers - READ DECREASE TIP-2 = 4 stitches decreased. Decrease like this on every other round 4-7-9 times in total and then on every round 6-3-2 times in total = 12-16-16 stitches remain on needles. On next round knit all stitches together 2 by 2 = 6-8-8 stitches remain. Cut the yarn and pull it through the remaining stitches, tighten together and fasten.
Work the other sock the same way.

SOCKS - QUICK SUMMARY OF THE PIECE:
The piece is worked in the round with double pointed needles, top down.

SOCK:
Cast on 72 stitches in all sizes with double pointed needles size 2.5 mm and black. Knit 1 round. Now work 5 rounds of rib (knit 1 /purl 1). Change to double pointed needles size 3 mm. Work pattern A.1 (= 8 stitches) a total of 9 times on the round. On the last round in A.1 decrease 2 stitches evenly spaced = 70 stitches. Then work A.2 (= 10 stitches) a total of 7 times on the round. On the last round increase 2 stitches evenly spaced = 72 stitches. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! Now work A.3 (= 12 stitches) a total of 6 times on the round. On the last round decrease 4-0-0 stitches evenly spaced = 68-72-72 stitches. Now work pattern as follows: A.4 (= 7 stitches), A.5 (= 23 stitches), A.4 (= 7 stitches) and A.6 (= 31-35-35 stitches) - decrease as shown in diagram A.6 = 64-68-68 stitches on the round. When A.6 has been worked 1 time in height, place the first 37 stitches on 1 thread (= stitches over A.4 + A.5 + A.4) = 27-31-31 stitches left on needle for heel. Continue with A.7 (choose diagram for your size) over the heel stitches for 5-5½-6 cm. Insert 1 marker in the middle of the row. THE PIECE IS NOW MEASURED FROM HERE! Now work HEEL DECREASE – read description above. After heel decrease knit up 10-12-14 stitches on each side of the heel – make sure to knit up stitches with every other color as in A.7 and make sure that first and last stitch is worked with ocean view. Place the 37 stitches from the thread are placed back on the needles = 72-76-80 stitches.
The 37 stitches on top of foot are worked in pattern as before (A.4 – A.5 – A.4), the other stitches are worked in A.7 (= under the foot) - AT THE SAME TIME decrease on each side of the 37 stitches on top of foot as follows: The 2 stitches before the 37 stitches (top of foot) knit 2 together through back loop (twisted) and the first 2 stitches after the 37 stitches (top of foot) knit 2 together. Decrease like this every 2nd round a total of 7 times = 58-62-66 stitches. The last stitch before A.7 should be a black stitch. Continue the pattern until the piece measures 18-19-22 cm from the heel marker (= approx. 4-5-5 cm left). Then work as follows: Work A.4 as before over the stitches in each side and A.7 over the 23 stitches on top of foot and the 21-25-29 stitches under the foot - AT THE SAME TIME decrease to toe on each side of A.4 in each side as follows: Work until there are 2 stitches left before A.4, knit 2 together, work A.4, then knit 2 stitches twisted together. Decrease in the same way by the other repeat of A.4 (= 4 stitches decreased on the round). Decrease like this every 2nd round a total of 4-7-7 times and then every round a total of 5-3-3 times = 22-22-26 stitches left. On the next round knit all stitches together 2 and 2, with black = 11-11-13 stitches. Cut the strand and pull it through the remaining stitches, tighten and fasten well. Work the other sock in the same way.

ACCESSORIES FOR THE PIECE:

KNITTING TENSION:
22 stitches and 30 rows stocking stitch and pattern = 10 x 10 cm.

NEEDLES:
DOUBLE POINTED NEEDLES SIZE 3.5 MM: for work in stocking stitch and pattern.
DOUBLE POINTED NEEDLES SIZE 3 MM: for rib.
The needle size is only a guide. If you get too many stitches on 10 cm, change to a larger needle size. If you get too few stitches on 10 cm, change to a smaller needle size.
PATTERN:
See diagrams A.1 to A.5. The whole pattern is worked in stocking stitch.

DECREASE TIP-1 (evenly spaced):
To work out how to decrease evenly, count the total number of stitches on the needle (e.g. 76 stitches) and divide by the number of decreases to be made (e.g. 12) = 6.3. In this example, decrease by knitting approx. every 5th and 6th stitch together.

KNITTING TIP-1:
To avoid the knitting tension becoming tighter when working pattern, it is important that the strands at the back are not tight. You can increase a needle size when working pattern if this is a problem.

KNITTING TIP-2:
To strengthen the heel, the heel and heel decrease can be worked with 2 strands as follows: Use the strand from both the inside and outside of the ball and work 1 stitch alternately with the one and then the other strand. In this way you get a slightly thicker heel without working with a double strand.

HEEL DECREASE:
ROW 1 (right side): Knit until there are 7-7-8-8 stitches left, slip the next stitch as if to knit, knit 1, pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch, turn the piece.
ROW 2 (wrong side): Purl until there are 7-7-8-8 stitches left, slip the next stitch as if to purl, purl 1, pass the slipped stitch over the purled stitch, turn the piece.
ROW 3 (right side): Knit until there are 6-6-7-7 stitches left, slip the next stitch as if to knit, knit 1, pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch, turn the piece.
ROW 4 (wrong side): Purl until there are 6-6-7-7 stitches left, slip the next stitch as if to purl, purl 1, pass the slipped stitch over the purled stitch, turn the piece.
Continue to decrease like this by working until there is 1 less stitch left before slipping the next stitch and until there are 12-14-14-14 stitches left on the needle.

DECREASE TIP-2 (for toe):
Decrease 1 stitch on each side of the marker as follows: Start 3 stitches before the marker, knit 2 stitches together, knit 2 (the marker sits in the middle of these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1, pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch (= 2 stitches decreased).

SOCKS – A QUICK SUMMARY OF THE PIECE:
The piece is worked in the round with double pointed needles, top down.

SOCK:
Cast on 76-80-84-92 stitches with double pointed needles size 3 mm and sea green. Knit 1 round. Then work 1 round of rib (= knit 2 / purl 2). Change to light oak and continue the rib until the piece measures 4-4-5-5 cm.
Change to double pointed needles size 3.5 mm. Knit 1 round with light oak and AT THE SAME TIME decrease 12 stitches evenly spaced in all sizes - read DECREASE TIP-1 = 64-68-72-80 stitches.
Read KNITTING TIP-1 and work A.1 in the round (= 16-17-18-20 repeats of 4 stitches). REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION!
AT THE SAME TIME on the round marked with arrow-1 in A.1 decrease 4-8-0-8 stitches evenly spaced = 60-60-72-72 stitches. Continue A.1 (there is now room for 5-5-6-6 repeats of 12 stitches).
On the round marked with arrow-2 decrease 4-4-8-0 stitches evenly spaced = 56-56-64-72 stitches.
When A.1 has been completed, the piece measures approx. 16-16-17-17 cm. Then work A.2 in the round (= 7-7-8-9 repeats of 8 stitches).
On the round marked with arrow-3 in A.2 decrease 2-2-4-6 stitches evenly spaced = 54-54-60-66 stitches.
When A.2 has been completed, the piece measures approx. 22-22-23-23 cm. Then work A.3 in the round (= 9-9-10-11 repeats of 6 stitches).
On the round marked with arrow-4 in A.3 decrease 6-0-0-6 stitches evenly spaced = 48-54-60-60 stitches (there is now room for 8-9-10-10 repeats of 6 stitches).
On the round marked with arrow-5 decrease 0-2-4-4 stitches evenly spaced = 48-52-56-56 stitches.
When A.3 has been completed, the piece measures approx. 34-34-35-35 cm from the cast-on edge.
Keep the first 12-13-14-14 stitches on the needle for the heel, place the next 24-26-28-28 stitches on 1 thread (= mid top of foot) and keep the last 12-13-14-14 stitches on the needle for the heel. Read KNITTING TIP-2 and work stocking stitch back and forth with light oak over the 24-26-28-28 heel stitches for 5-5½-6-6½ cm.
Insert a marker in the middle of the last row; the marker will be used later to measure the foot length.
Work HEEL DECREASE – read description above. After the heel decrease, work the next round as follows (start the round in the middle of the 12-14-14-14 heel stitches and work with light oak): Knit 6-7-7-7 stitches, knit up 11-12-13-14 stitches along the side of the heel, knit the 24-26-28-28 stitches from the thread, knit up 11-12-13-14 stitches along the other side of the heel and knit over the remaining 6-7-7-7 heel stitches = 58-64-68-70 stitches on the needles.
Insert 1 marker on each side of the 24-26-28-28 stitches on top of foot.
Work A.4 in the round and decrease on each side of the 24-26-28-28 stitches on top of foot as follows: Knit together the last 2 stitches before the first marker on top of foot and knit twisted together the first 2 stitches after the second marker on top of foot (= 2 stitches decreased). Decrease like this every 2nd round a total of 7-8-8-7 times = 44-48-52-56 stitches.
Continue A.4 until the piece measures approx. 14-16-18-21 cm from the marker on the heel, but finish after 3 rounds of light oak. Work A.5 in the round (= 11-12-13-14 repeats of 4 stitches). When A.5 has been completed, there is approx. 4-4-5-5 cm left to finished length. Change to dark mustard. If necessary, try the sock on and work stocking stitch in the round to desired length before decreasing to toe as described below.
Insert 1 marker in each side of the sock so that you have 22-24-26-28 stitches both on top of and under the foot. On the next round decrease to toe on each side of both markers – read DECREASE TIP-2 (= 4 stitches decreased). Decrease like this every 2nd round a total of 4-4-5-5 times and then every round a total of 5-6-6-7 times = 8 stitches left in all sizes. Cut the strand, pull it through the remaining stitches, tighten and fasten well. Work the other sock in the same way.

ACCESSORIES FOR THE PIECE:

KNITTING TENSION:
22 stitches in width and 30 rows vertically in stocking stitch = 10 x 10 cm.

NEEDLES:
DOUBLE POINTED NEEDLES SIZE 3.5 mm for sock.
DOUBLE POINTED NEEDLES SIZE 2.5 mm for rib
Needle size is only a suggestion! If you have too many stitches on 10 cm switch to larger needles. If you have too few stitches on 10 cm switch to smaller needles.

CABLE NEEDLE - for cables.
PATTERN:
See diagrams A.1 to A.6. Choose diagram for your size.

KNITTING TIP (applies to heel):
To get a stronger heel the entire heel and heel decrease can be worked in 2 strands as follows: Use strand inside and outside of ball and work 1 stitch alternately with one and the other strand. This way you get a thicker heel without working with double strand.

HEEL DECREASE:
ROW 1 (= right side): Knit until 7-7-8 stitches remain, slip next stitch as if to knit, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch knitted, turn piece.
ROW 2 (= wrong side): Purl until 7-7-8 stitches remain, slip next stitch as if to purl, purl 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch purled, turn piece.
ROW 3 (= right side): Knit until 6-6-7 stitches remain, slip next stitch as if to knit, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch knitted, turn piece.
ROW 4 (= wrong side): Purl until 6-6-7 stitches remain, slip next stitch as if to purl, purl 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch purled, turn piece.
Continue decrease like this with 1 stitch less before each decrease until there are 12-14-14 stitches on needle.

DECREASE TIP-2:
Work until 2 stitches remain before marker, knit 2 together, marker, slip 1 stitch knitwise, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch worked (= 2 stitches decreased).

SOCKS - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
Worked in the round on double pointed needles, from the top and down to toes.

SOCK:
Cast on 60-64-66 stitches on double pointed needles size 2.5 mm with Lima. Knit 1 round.
Work next round as follows: Work A.1A (= 3-5-6 stitches), A.2A (= 8 stitches), A.3A (= 15 stitches), A.2A (= 8 stitches), A.4A (= 15 stitches), A.2A (= 8 stitches) and finish with A.5A (= 3-5-6 stitches). Repeat A.1A and A.5A vertically until piece measures 4 cm.
Switch to double pointed needles size 3.5 mm and work A.1B over A.1A, A.2B over A.2A, A.3B over A.3A, A.4B over A.4A and A.5B over A.5A. Continue this pattern. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When A.1B to A.5B have been worked, there are 53-57-59 stitches on round.
Then work as follows: Work A.1C over A.1B, A.2C over A.2B, A.3C over A.3B, A.4C over A.4B and A.5C over A.5B. Work A.1C to A.5C 2-2-3 times in total vertically. Piece measures approx. 20-20-23 cm.
Work next round as follows:
Knit 0-2-2, purl 1-1-2, knit 9, work A.3C (= 12 stitches), A.2C (= 9 stitches) and A.4C (= 12 stitches) as before, knit 9, purl 1-1-2 and knit 0-2-2-.
Work next round as follows:
Knit 5-7-8, knit 2 together (= 1 stitch decreased), knit 6-5-5, work A.6A (= 27-29-29 stitches) – continue on correct round in diagram, knit 6-5-5, knit 2 together (= 1 stitch decreased) and knit 5-7-8 = 51-55-57 stitches.
Then repeat A.6A (= 27-29-29 stitches), work the remaining stitches in stocking stitch. Now keep the first 12-13-14 stitches on needle for heel, slip the next 27-29-29 stitches on 1 stitch holder (= mid on top of foot) and keep the last 12-13-14 stitches on needle for heel. Read KNITTING TIP and work in stocking stitch back and forth over the 24-26-28 heel stitches for 5-5½-6 cm. Insert 1 marker in middle of row, MEASURE PIECE FROM HERE.
Now work HEEL DECREASE - see explanation above. When heel decrease is done, pick up 11-12-13 stitches on each side of heel and slip the 27-29-29 stitches from stitch holder back on needle = 61-67-69 stitches. Insert 1 marker on each side of the 27-29-29 stitches on top of foot.
Work in stocking stitch and A.6A as before and decrease on each side of the 27-29-29 stitches on top of foot as follows: Knit the last 2 stitches BEFORE first marker on top of foot together and knit the first 2 stitches AFTER last marker on top of foot twisted together. Decrease like this every other round 7-8-7 times in total = 47-51-55 stitches. Work until piece measures 17-19-21 cm from marker on heel – adjust to not finish on 3rd to 5th round in A.6A.
Now work A.6B over A.6A, continue the remaining stitches in stocking stitch. When A.6B has been worked vertically, there are 44-48-52 stitches on needles.
Continue working in stocking stitch over all stitches. Continue until piece measures approx. 18-20-22 cm from marker on heel (approx. 4-4-5 cm remain until finished measurements, try the sock on and work to desired length).
Insert 1 marker in each side of sock so that there are 22-24-26 stitches both on top of foot and under foot. Continue working and decrease for toes on each side of these two markers - read DECREASE TIP-2. Decrease like this on every other round a total of 4-4-5 times and then on every round a total of 5-6-6 times = 8 stitches remain on needles in all sizes. Cut the yarn and pull it through the remaining stitches, tighten together and fasten. Knit another sock the same way.
